Simplimmat

You can use the app to declare the sale of a vehicle and apply for the vehicle registration document at the same time; this is why the seller and buyer need to be together in-person.
 

Please note that Simplimmat has to be downloaded to the two phones.
 

• If you are on an IPHONE, you can download it from the App Store provided you have at least version ISO 13 installed on your phone.
   
• For ANDROID, you can download it via Play Store, provided you are running at least version 7.1 v25.
   

You need to authenticate via FranceConnect to carry out these procedures and you cannot carry out the procedure for a third party; the FranceConnect accounts must be in the buyer's and seller's names.
 

Please note that this app is for private individuals only. As such, a legal entity cannot sell their vehicle using the app and cannot declare the purchase.
 

Taxes for registering the vehicle are to be paid by credit card.

SIMPLIMMAT is a smartphone app that you can download from AppStore (Apple) or Play Store (Android). It is an official French State app designed for making some administrative vehicle registration procedures easier for private individuals buying a used vehicle.
 

The ANTS (France Titres) site, on the other hand, is used for the following procedures:

• To sell or transfer your vehicle
• To redo your vehicle registration document
• To buy or receive a used vehicle
• To change the address on your vehicle registration document
• To apply for Vehicle Administrative Status Certificate (CSA)
• To apply for a Vehicle Identification Document (FIV)
• To apply for a tax clearance certificate only (for professional buyers only)
• To register a vehicle and apply for a tax clearance certificate (UPT)

Please note that the SIMPLIMMAT app is for transactions between private individuals only.
 

This means that if you buy a vehicle from a professional, you must carry out your procedures on the ANTS (France Titres) site.

This app was developed to help you with your registration procedures and is by no means compulsory.
 

If you decide to use SIMPLIMMAT, you must carry out the procedures completely on the app.
 

This means that the vehicle transfer, the declaration of purchase and change of owner must be carried out on the app.
 

Moreover, the app is for private individuals only.
 

If you prefer, you can also carry out your procedures on the official site: https://immatriculation.ants.gouv.fr/.

• Have your vehicle registration document to hand ;
• Fill in the information required to transfer ownership of your vehicle.
• Share the transfer file with the future owner on your respective smartphones.
• Sign the transfer on the app to register it.
• Download the completed and signed transfer certificate from the app.

 

• Wait for the seller to share the vehicle transfer documents with you ;
• Review and verify the information provided ;
• Confirm the documents with the seller ;
• Sign the purchase agreement in the app so that your purchase is officially registered with the authorities ;
• Download the completed and signed transfer certificate.

 

• Add co-owners to your new vehicle registration certificate if you wish.
• Enter your residential address details.
• Pay the registration taxes on the government payment platform.
• Retrieve your provisional registration certificate in the app (valid for one month).
• Receive your vehicle registration certificate at your address by tracked post within 7 to 8 days

• Consult your vehicle's administrative file
• Find and download your documents at any time: certificate of transfer, provisional registration certificate

In accordance with the amended law of 6 January 1978 relating to files, information technology and civil liberties, you may access your information at any time, correct inaccurate data or request the deletion of your personal data by sending us a request to simplimmat-ants@interieur.gouv.fr.

 

Depending on your use of the Application, the retention period for the data collected varies.

• If you have created a Simplimmat account without yet authenticating yourself via FranceConnect, your data will be automatically deleted after one week.
• If you have already authenticated yourself via FranceConnect but have not yet submitted a vehicle transfer declaration or registration application, your data will be automatically deleted 11 months after your last login. An email will be sent to notify you of the upcoming deletion of your account and its data unless you take action to keep it.
• If you have already submitted a vehicle transfer declaration or registration request via the Application, these requests will be kept for 5 years. The vehicle identification data and corresponding personal data imported into the information system, known as the Vehicle Registration System (SIV), at the time of validation of the requests are kept for the entire lifetime of the vehicle's administrative file.
