What is Simplimmat?
Simplimmat is the official government app designed to make submitting forms easier for private individuals selling or buying a used vehicle. The seller and buyer report the transfer together, and the procedure is totally secure and paperless (there is no need to fill out CERFA paperwork). Buyers can order their new vehicle registration document (Carte Grise) straight away, and get their provisional registration certificate immediately.
The Application only supports vehicles registered in the new format (AA-123-AA) and vehicles of type VP, TM, QM, QLEM, CL, CYCL, CTTE, MTL, MTT1 or MTT2. These include passenger cars, tricycles and quadricycles, two- or three-wheeled mopeds, and motorbikes.
The type of vehicle is shown in field J.1 on the back of your vehicle registration document (e.g.: J.1 VP for private vehicles).
