Confidential code

The confidential code is a 5-digit number.

You will only need it if you do not use a FranceConnect account for specific online procedures.

  • If your code was sent before 1st January 2025, you will have received it by postal mail along with your vehicle registration document.
  • If your code was sent after 1st January 2025 or if you have lost it, you will need to request one when carrying out your online procedure:
    • Begin the procedure you wish by logging in to your user space;
    • On the "To begin" page, click "Request a new code";
    • Enter the information required (name, date place of birth).

When requesting the confidential code, if you choose:

  • "for myself": the code will be sent to you on the email address registered in your ANTS (France Titres) account.
  • "for someone else": the confidential code will be sent by postal mail to the holder of the vehicle registration document.

       Your procedure will be put on hold while you wait to receive your code.
 

To save time, use FranceConnect, which enables you to carry out all your procedures without using this confidential code!

 

Since 1st January 2025, vehicle registration documents have been send by registered mail, without acknowledgement of receipt. To prevent any fraud in connection with your document, we decided to no longer include the confidential code in this postal mail.
 

Rest assured, however, you can still obtain your confidential code. You just need to visit our site and begin a procedure (for example: Change the address on your vehicle registration document). At the beginning of this procedure, you will see a section entitled "confidential code", where you just need to click "request a new code".
 

If you carry out the procedure for yourself, the code will be sent to you on the email address linked to your ANTS (France Titres) account. However, if you are doing it for another person, the confidential code will be sent by postal mail to the holder of the vehicle registration document.
 

What's more, if you use a FranceConnect account to carry out your procedures on our site, you no longer need to enter a confidential code.
