Description of the service

Registering a vehicle and requesting a tax clearance

Description of the service

À savoir

This remote procedure is currently being tested. It should only be used if the purchaser of the vehicle (the person whose name appears on the foreign purchase invoice) has their home or registered office in one of the following four départements: Nord (59), Pas-de-Calais (62), Moselle (57) and Bas-Rhin (67).

This is a single procedure for obtaining a tax clearance for the vehicle and applying to register it. It applies to new or used vehicles from an EU country other than France.

The clearance certifies that the vehicle is in good standing with regard to value-added tax (VAT).

If the purchaser's domicile or registered office is located in another département, the request for a tax clearance must be made to the relevant tax office.
