Following a gift or sale, the holder has 15 days to register the transfer. 

 

Once this has been done, the buyer must be given the transfer code that was issued.

The seller must also submit the detailed lien release (CSA).

 

The declaration of transfer does not cause any document to be printed.

If you are doing this for someone else, you will need to provide a power of attorney and proof of identity.

 

If the application requires further verification, documents may be requested by the processing department such as: 

  • Paper transfer (cerfa 15776*02)
  • The confidential code related to the vehicle registration document (if the request is for someone else)
  • The detailed CSA (vehicle lien release) via Histovec

    Logging in via an ANTS or FranceConnect account

    Once you have logged in to your space:

    • Click on the “New Request” button 
    • Select "Registration"
    • Select the "Sell or donate your vehicle" request.

    Start the process

    Enter:

    • The registration number
    • The date of the vehicle registration document
    • The date of birth of the purchaser if the registration is in the old format,
    • The date and place of birth
    • The vehicle's mileage
    • The contact details for the new buyer.

  3. 3
    Confirming the process
    • Verify the information summary
    • Read and tick the legal conditions of use
    • Collect the transfer code at the end of the process and give it to the buyer.

    Track its progress in your ANTS space

    To check the status of your online application, log in to your account.

    5. Start your online transaction
