Certificate of administrative status (lien release)

What is it? What's it used for?

The certificate of administrative status (CSA), or vehicle lien release, is a document issued by the Ministry of the Interior containing information about the administrative status of a vehicle.

It is required for all used vehicle registration services.

As of 24 July 2018, there is only one type of CSA: the detailed CSA

This detailed CSA shows all the information relating to the vehicle's situation, including:

  • whether the vehicle has been pledged as collateral
  • whether the vehicle has a lien on it

How do I get it for free?

You can obtain it directly online from the HISTOVEC website, using:

  • The license plate number
  • The certificate number (at the bottom of the registration certificate)
  • The date of the registration certificate
  • The last and first name of the registrant, or company name if a legal entity
  • Your SIREN number, if you are a legal entity
